Samsung Galaxy A15: chipset, connection mode and choosing a tool for FRP

Updated 2026-11-04 · Русская версия

Galaxy A15 is one of the most common Samsung phones, and FRP jobs on it are frequent. But A15 is two different platforms, and the version decides the mode, the method and whether a tool supports your firmware.

Versions and chips

VersionModel codeChip
Galaxy A15 4GSM-A155F, SM-A155MMediaTek Helio G99
Galaxy A15 5GSM-A156B, SM-A156E, SM-A156UMediaTek Dimensity 6100+

Both are MediaTek, but the methods differ and support is added per exact model code.

Find the exact model

  1. Box or SIM-tray label.
  2. Download Mode screen, which lists the model code.
  3. If it boots, Settings then About phone.

BIT and security patch

In a Samsung firmware string such as A155FXXS3BXF1, the fifth character from the end is the BIT (here 3). A higher BIT means a newer bootloader and fewer available methods. Write down the BIT and the patch date before renting.

Which mode

Choosing a tool

ToolWhen to consider
UnlockToolwide Samsung list, short rental
TSM Tool ProSamsung and MediaTek, legitimate KG/MDM
TFM Tool ProSamsung FRP and flashing

The support list for the exact code (A155F or A156B) and BIT decides.

Preparation

  1. Record the model code, BIT and patch.
  2. Install Samsung USB Driver.
  3. Check the model in the tool list.
  4. Confirm ownership and warn about the data wipe.
  5. Charge to 40% or more.
  6. Get access, pick the model and FRP, follow the prompts.

FRP is not KG

FRP is the Google account lock after a reset. KG (Knox Guard) is a lock set by a seller or carrier, for example on instalments, and the screen usually shows a company name. KG can only be cleared legitimately through whoever set it.

Real-world example

An A15 5G arrived after a reset. Download Mode showed SM-A156B, BIT 2. One tool listed the model only up to BIT 1; another supported BIT 2. A five-minute check saved paying for the wrong tool.

How long it takes

With a supported model and BIT, drivers installed and a charged phone, FRP on an A15 usually takes 10 to 20 minutes including prep. Most time goes into finding a method for a new patch, so check support before paying.

Bottom line

A15 4G and A15 5G are different chips. Identify the model code, BIT and patch, check tool support, and only then get access.

Why methods age quickly

Samsung ships monthly security patches that close the debugging paths and bootloader weaknesses tools rely on. So A15 appearing in a list does not guarantee success on a fresh patch. Check the tool update date and the model notes before paying.

Back up if the phone is accessible

If the customer remembers the account or the phone still boots, signing into the account instead of removing FRP keeps the data. Service FRP removal is for cases where the account is unavailable and the owner has proven their right to the device.

Honor and sub-brands note

A15 is Samsung only, but the same logic applies everywhere: identify the exact model code and chip, not the marketing name, because one name can hide several platforms.

Future tip

Save the log of each A15 job in a folder named by model code and BIT; next time you will see at once which method worked on that firmware and will not spend rental time checking.
